Bringing the Funk to Grand Prairie

Grandmasters of funk, RnB and soul Maze and Frankie Beverly have been inducing mass dancing and euphoria for 44 tremendous years. Amongst the best acts of the 70's and 80's, the band fuses together the lush instrumental sound of their native Philadelphia with laid-back California grooves, culminating in a smooth blend of funk-tinged soul pop. Among their best known tracks are 'Back in Stride' and 'Before I Let Go'.

They're joined in Grand Prairie by the one and only Chaka Khan. A legendary name in the world of RnB, the 10 time Grammy Award winner rose to fame with the group Rufus in the 80s, releasing classic cuts like 'Ain't Nobody' and 'Tell Me Something Good' before going solo. Last year she appeared as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars. Rounding out the bill at the Verizon Theatre is Raheem DeVaughn.
