Rise Against still holds firm to the principle that punk should be about something, railing against political inequality and oppressive social forces with blistering riffs and fist-pumping, no-holds-barred sheer force of will. The inspiration for their ninth album, Nowhere Generation (2021), came from the bands community of loyal fans and the children of the band members. Their hope with this album was to shake people awake, find their voices, and pull them out of their comfort zones.
