Why See Dallas Opera - Samson & Dalila?

my heart opens itself to your voice

The Dallas Opera open their 61st season with 'the jewel of French Opera', Camille Saint-Saens' passionate retelling of Samson and Delila from the Old Testament's Book of Judges. An epic tale of romance and betrayal it is a thrilling part of the repertoire, memorable and moving in equal measures as Samson falls victim to Delila's famed wiles, exchanging the source of his strength for the promise of true love.

The only of Saint-Saens' operas still in regular rotation, Samson and Delila's appeal comes from the combination of his incredible score with the historically dramatic plot. Action packed and heart-stopping, it is as just as unforgettable on repeat viewings as it in on first time.
