Dallas' Brand New Broadway Season Announced

Check out which Broadway hits are coming to Dallas!

Dallas is welcoming Broadway back to the Music Hall at Fair Park and Winspear Opera House! After over a year since the world was plunged into disruption with the COVID-19 pandemic, theaters across North America are gearing up to welcoming back shows and audiences in the coming year, including some of Broadway's biggest musicals on tour!

On the roster will be the eight-time Tony Award-winning Hadestown and brilliantly fun Mean Girls. The Broadway phenomenon Hamilton, Come From Away, the classic Wicked, Jersey Boys, Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar, Oklahoma! and the Disney smash-hit Frozen will also be heading to Dallas during the 2021/2022 season!

WICKED

Music Hall at Fair Park: August 4 - September 5, 2021
Forget all that you know about The Wizard of Oz and be transported once again to the magical land of Oz! This time, however, the action takes place way before the arrival of Dorothy and her pooch Toto. Wicked is the story of two magically inclined women, one blonde, and one green of skin - and their coming-of-age as the forces of good and (perceived) 'wicked'.

JERSEY BOYS

Music Hall at Fair Park: October 19 - 31, 2021
Jersey Boys is the smash-hit jukebox musical that gives us the true, sometimes gritty and always spectacularly entertaining story of falsetto idol Franki Valli and The Four Seasons. The blue-collar boys in the shiny Lurex suits strode onto the scene in 1965, wowing the public for 20 years with hits such as "Big Girls Don't Cry","Oh What a Night", "Walk Like a Man," and many more. But before fame and fortune, comes a difficult, and sometimes not entirely legal, journey to stardom.

HAMILTON

Music Hall at Fair Park: November 16 - December 5, 2021
Written by Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winner Lin Manuel Miranda, Hamilton is a true landmark of American culture, tearing up the musical theatre rulebook with a score that is equal parts Sondheim and Notorious B.I.G., and a cast of ethnically diverse actors in the roles of the Founding Fathers.

HADESTOWN

Winspear Opera House: January 18 - 30, 2022
Plucky folk opera Hadestown garnered eight Tony Awards (including the coveted Tony for Best Musical), four Drama Desk Awards, six Outer Critics Circle Awards and a Drama League Award. This came as no surprise given the production received much acclaim during both its Off-Broadway and Broadway runs, praised for its soaring imagination, vibrant retelling of a classic story and a sumptuous score that evokes smoky New Orleans jazz and bubbling Americana-tinged folk. Don't miss out when the lauded musical hits the road on its hotly anticipated national tour!

RENT

Music Hall at Fair Park: February 18 - 20, 2022
Rent, one of theater's most vibrant, bold and important musicals, returns for a 25th Anniversary Farewell tour. The winner of four Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Jonathan Larson's show is a fearless portrait of a HIV-stricken group of New Yorkers, set to a propulsive rock 'n' roll score. Driven by an energetic pace that never lets up, Rent is overflowing with great songs and characters, and ultimately forms an electrifying portrait of life and love flourishing in the face of adversity.

COME FROM AWAY

Music Hall at Fair Park: March 8 - 20, 2022
Following well-received engagements on Broadway and its premiere city Toronto, this new hit musical based on true events has headed out on its first national tour! Nominated for eight Tony Awards and nine Drama Desk gongs, this is a musical that celebrates human endurance, compassion and bravery under dreadful circumstances. Written by Canadian husband and wife team Irene Snakoff and David Hein, this surprise hit is the toast of Broadway.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

Music Hall at Fair Park: April 5 - 17, 2022
Fresh off a hit run in London, this Olivier Award-winning new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's groundbreaking musical astounds on tour. Lacing together biblical drama with a propulsive rock and funk score, director Timothy Sheader reinvents the story for the modern age, paring back the more overblown aspects of the original for a truly rocking show.

MEAN GIRLS

Music Hall at Fair Park: May 3 - 15, 2022
Tina Fey's Drama Desk award-winning Broadway musical, based on the 2004 Lindsay Lohan film, Mean Girls is out on tour! With a book by Fey, direction by Book of Mormon's Casey Nicholaw, music and lyrics by Jeff Richmond and Legally Blonde's Nell Benjamin - which includes tracks "Apex Predator" and "I'd Rather Be Me"- it's no surprise that the musical is Broadway's latest smash hit, earning 12 Tony nominations along the way.

OKLAHOMA!

Winspear Opera House: June 10, 2022
First making its bow on the Great White Way in 1943, Rodgers and Hammerstein's evergreen classic Oklahoma! whisked early audiences away from the stark realities of World War II and offered up a song-filled optimism and unity. Reclaiming its joyous melodies, can-do spirit and classic plot, New York-based director Daniel Fish revived the song-and-dance spectacular in his home city in early 2019, earning eight Tony Award nominations, including Best Revival Of A Musical, for its stripped-back, Country-western treatment of the original score and vivid, darker depiction of the Wild West reflected in its naturalistic staging and style.

DISNEY'S FROZEN: THE MUSICAL

Music Hall at Fair Park: July 20 - August 7, 2022
Disney's latest Broadway smash hit is heading out on tour! Following a storming success on Broadway, and earning three Tony nomination in the process, Elsa, Anna, Olaf and Kristoff head out across North America to bring the magic of Frozen to you!
