Services
An infra-red listening system is available to patrons with hearing impairments during all performances to assist them with amplification and clarity. The system makes use of lightweight headsets, without wires or cables. Patrons can sit most anywhere in the theatre and use the headsets, which have adjustable volume controls. Headsets are available at the Infra-red rental stand in the lower lobby outside aisle 1. A major credit card or driver's license is required as collateral. Due to the popularity of the infra-red headsets (especially at matinees), please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to curtain to avoid disappointment.
Access Into Theater
Designated parking spaces are conveniently located in the lot between the Music Hall and the African American Museum, and accessible restroom facilities are available on the first level. The orchestra section has integrated seating for patrons in wheelchairs.
Performances for the Hearing Impaired/ Deaf and Partially Sighted/Blind
Sign-interpreted performances are offered to groups by special request only. This service must be coordinated in advance, for each event, with the facilities manager. Open Captioning is available to patrons with profound hearing loss who do not fully benefit from the infra-red amplification system or the American Sign Language interpreters. This is done through the use of laptop computers presenting the script in conjunction with the action on stage.
