NEED THERAPY

One of the worst plays I’ve ever seen. Me and my wife walked out at intermission because it was so bad. The next it was still the top of conversation, you have to talk it through or end up doing two years of therapy to get the painful memories out of your head. What a train wreck

Terrible! Worst production I have ever seen. I expected a more modern adaptation but this one did not make any sense at all. It was like a high school production.

Worst rendition of a play I have ever seen. Singing and cast were great, very talented people. I feel badly that they even had to perform in the show. Many people around me, myself included, had no idea about what was going on. The story line was incredibly hard to follow. The play honestly reminded me of the Mad Hatter's tea party from Alice in Wonderland. Complete nonsense. Expected more from the PPAC. What I thought would be a wonderful night out with my elderly mother turned into us leaving early at intermission and spending time speaking with other patrons in the parking garage about how truly awful and disappointing the show was. This was the first show my mother and I had been to since before covid. I will have to seriously consider purchasing tickets for future PPAC events.

THE WORST!

People were leaving during the first half. People leaving for intermission and not coming back. People leaving during second half. People who stayed to the end left without clapping and muttering to each other that it was the worst show ever!

WOKLAHOMA, A BASTARDIZATION OF OKLAHOMA

Off key singing, out of tune instruments, horrible dancing, morbid plot change, sound system buzzing with a short. At one point in the dream sequence, the dancer (?) bouncing around the stage on her butt reminded me of a dog with worms scooting across the floor. Too often used turning off the lights for sound only, but maybe this was the best part. Too often it was too loud. Couldn’t pay me to sit thru this again. They had five trucks for the tour - for what? - for a handful of folding tables, some folding chairs, one costume change, and some painted panels for scenery that probably would fit in a pick-up truck bed. Not surprisingly, lots of people walked out of this performance. I wish I had stayed home. This bastardization ruined what once was one of my favorite shows.

A TRAVESTY

Imagine painting tatoos on the Mona Lisa and calling it an update. True proof that "new" is not necessarily better. The singers seemed to be actively searching for a style while performing the songs. The overall feel of the show was anger (some reviewers called it dark). The opening of the second act was and interpretive dance worthy of a bad high school experimental dance class, accompanied by a deafening, acid rock medley of the score. Other dancing in show was reminiscent hip hop performers stomping aimlessly around the stage. Even the title song, Oklahoma! (usually an uplifting anthem to the territory, the state, and the people who worked and struggled to build it) came off as bitter and angry. Nothing about this version of the show has any redeeming qualities, as was evident by at least one fourth of the audience leaving at intermission and many others who remained laughing aloud at the bizarre and sophomoric concept. I only regret that there was not an option for 0 stars.
