The Theatre at Grand Prairie proudly presents the 16th annual Dallas Blues Festival, and this year the line-up is bigger, and bluesier, than ever! For one special night only, Baton Rouge bluesman Pokey Bear shares the stage with a host of the genre's finest performers including R&B crooner Tucka, Southern soul songstress Nellie Tiger Travis, 70s icon Lenny Williams, throwback revivalist Sir Charles Jones, up and comer Tyree Neal, Grammy nominee Calvin Richardson and soul singer Ronnie Bell.
Fusing the sounds of the bayou with R&B and soul music, Pokey Bear calls on the spirits of Willie Clayton and James Brown to start the sonic party whenever he walks into the studio or out on to the stage. First rising to prominence in the mid-2010s, 'The Gingerbread Man' hitmaker knows a thing or two about crafting satisfyingly smooth ballads as well as pumping dance-floor-orientated tracks.
Performance date: 7 March 2020
