A Smooth & Soulful Evening With R&B Legend Betty Wright
Get soulful with this special one-night-only concert featuring legendary R&B songstress Betty Wright, Tower of Power frontman Lenny Williams, up and coming throwback singer songwriter Tucka, iconic American blues man Clarence Carter and Blues Hall of Famer Latimore. Together they'll be conjuring the glories of 60s, 70s and 80s Motown and blues, as well as celebrating the rich legacy they've cultivated that's still influencing music today.
A soul singer with strong gospel roots, Legends Of Blues headliner Betty Wright rose to prominence at a young age, releasing her 1968 debut album 'My First Time Around' at the tender age of 14. Her fledgling success was bolstered by her 1971 seminal single 'Clean Up Women', which later wound up being sampled in Mary J. Blige's 'Real Love' single. The Grammy-winning blues diva is praised for her powerhouse vocal style, calling to mind the fire of Mavis Staples and nuances of James Brown affiliate Lynn Collins.
