The story of Ariel magically brought to life
The permanent home of Le Theatre de Marionette, Geppetto's Marionette Theater has been entertaining families in Dallas since 2014. Playing over 200 shows a year, the company specialises is adapting classic fables and fairytales, and they don't come more timeless than The Little Mermaid.
Originally written by Hans Christen Anderson, and taken to a whole other level of popularity by the 1989 Disney version, it's the story of a mermaid princess Ariel who falls in love with a human. Relationships between humans and merpeople is forbidden, so will Ariel sacrifice her life beneath the wave to be with the one she loves? Packed with romance, adventure and plenty of audience participation, this Little Mermaid is the perfect show for the little ones, and even in the age of ipads and Netflix, the magic of these incredible marionettes is guaranteed to keep them enthralled.
