Do you hear the people sing?

Why See Les Miserables?

To headline an already dazzling 2014 season, Dallas Theater Center present their first professional production of the enduring theatrical epic, Les Miserables, with a new re-staging that makes use of the flexibility of the Wyly Theater space, keeping the audience at the heart of the passion like never before.

Inspired by the recent success of the Oscar winning adaptation, Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty hopes to bring the same refreshing spriit to the stage by 'engulfing the audience in the experience, getting up close to Jean Valjean and Fantine, telling the classic story as you've never seen it before.

With it's world famous Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schonberg score, Les Miserables is the tale of one man, Jean Valjean and his personal struggle to be accepted by society and himself. Pursued by the relentless police chief Javert, his story spans across the ages, taking in scoundrels, those fallen from grace and society, touching romance and a revolutionary battle, with rousing effect.

From humble beginnings as a French language concept album of Victor Hugo's treaty on social justice, Les Miserable has gone on to be accepted in to the mainstream, fuelled by songs that capture raw emotion, such as 'I Dreamed a Dream','On My Own','Do You Hear The People Sing?' and many, many more.

A an evening seeing Les Miserables is a theatrical experience you're not likely to forget!
